Public Notice for Golden Valley Electric Association, Inc.

The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Golden Valley Electric Association, Inc. (GVEA) filed TA302-13, proposing revisions to Rule 11 (Liability of Association). Within Rule 11, GVEA proposes adding a force majeure clause and new provisions establishing GVEA’s right to schedule outages in order to make system repairs, modifications, and improvements. In addition, GVEA proposes a new provision for unscheduled outages establishing GVEA’s right to limit service when the system experiences a serious shortage and it becomes necessary for GVEA to place a curtailment program in effect. GVEA also proposes re-writing existing provisions addressing irregularities or failure of electric service, member-owned equipment, and consequential damages.
