Amend Certificate No.126 to Simplify ASU Service Area -
Notice of Utility Application to Amend Certificate
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that on April 21, 2015,
the Municipality of Anchorage d/b/a Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility (AWWU), on
behalf of Anchorage Wastewater Utility (ASU) filed an application to amend Certificate of Public
Convenience and Necessity No. 126. The application seeks to amend ASU’s certificated service
area to clarify, simplify, align, and correct the service area boundaries for ease of use and
understanding. The proposed revisions consist of adding or removing land in order to align the
service areas to section or parcel boundaries, removing references to other entities, using
township and range descriptions, and adding parcels currently served but not included in the
service area. The intent of the proposed revisions is neither to provide service to new customers
nor is it to terminate service to existing customers. Docket No. U-15-073 was opened to address
this matter.
