REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA EXTENDS APPLICATION DEADLINE
FOR THE RURAL ALASKA BROADBAND INTERNET ACCESS PROGRAM
On September 19, 2008, the Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA) issued a
press release announcing the release of the grant application guide for the fourth
round of the Rural Alaska Broadband Internet Access Grant Program (Grant
Program). The RCA requested proposals from telecommunications carriers and
cable operators interested in receiving a grant under this program, and set a
deadline of October 31, 2008 to receive grant applications.
In order to ensure grant applicants have sufficient time to complete comprehensive
grant applications in this round of grant funding, the RCA is extending the deadline
for filing grant applications to December 31, 2008. A revised Round Four Grant
Application Guide, incorporating the extended filing deadline and related timelines, is
now available on the RCA website at
