Consumer Forum for Alaskans.

In conjunction with the National Consumer Protection Week (March 4-10, 2018), the Consumer Protection & Information Section of the Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA) will be hosting a Consumer Forum on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The purpose of the forum is to educate the public about consumer protection issues.  Representatives from these agencies and organizations are scheduled to speak: Alaska Attorney General's Consumer Protection Unit, Human Rights Commission, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Internal Revenue Service, Medicare Information Office, Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, Banking and Securities, Better Business Bureau, and the RCA.

"We’ve all heard about the presence of scams, fraud, and unfair and deceptive business practices everywhere - they’ve become much more than loss of money for victims.  This means we all have to be vigilant and take ongoing steps to protect ourselves.  That is why we feel strongly about the value of allocating time to come together and share information about various consumer services and latest updates."
- Grace Salazar, RCA Consumer Protection Section Chief
