Rate increase -
NOTICE OF UTILITY TARIFF FILINGS
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that MILE 8
UTILITIES, LLC (Mile 8), has filed tariff revisions for its water and sewer utilities (TA36-258 and TA17-259, respectively). In TA36-258, Mile 8 (water) is seeking approval of a
12.39 percent permanent rate increase effective for billings on or after August 15, 2013.
Should the Commission suspend the tariff revision for further investigation, Mile 8
(water) requests a 6.19 percent interim rate increase pending approval of a permanent
rate. In TA17-259, Mile 8 (sewer) is seeking approval of a 15.67 percent permanent rate
increase effective for billings on or after August 15, 2013, and request a 15.67 percent
interim rate increase should the filing be suspended. Mile 8 (sewer) indicated the 15.67
percent rate increase is the first phase of a proposed 60.28 percent permanent rate
increase that will be phased in over a four-year period, with Mile 8 (sewer) planning to
submit additional rate increase requests in the future as part of this phased process.
