Revision to NFPPR Provision -
Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that TDX North
Slope Generating, Inc. (TNSG) filed a tariff revision (TA170-227) to modify language
addressing the calculation of its non-firm purchase power rate (NFPPR). The proposed
effective date is January 5, 2014.
The tariff revision would remove variable operation and maintenance expenses from the
calculation of the NFPPR. Currently the NFPPR is calculated by dividing the sum of TNSG’s
fuel and variable operation and maintenance expenses and the energy portion of its
purchased-power expenses for the prior 12-month period by the number of kilowatt-hours sold during the same 12-month period. TA170-227 proposes to calculate the NFPPR
by dividing the sum of its fuel expenses and the energy portion of its purchased-power
expenses for the prior 12-month period by the number of kilowatt-hours sold during the
same 12-month period.
