Dear Regulatory Commission of Alaska,
 
I am writing to voice my support for the sale and transfer of BP Alaska’s assets to Hilcorp Energy Company. Although we are very sorry to see BP leave Alaska we believe Hilcorp will be a responsible partner in the continued development of our State’s natural resources. Hilcorp already has a substantial presence in Alaska and has shown an ability to work safely in our existing regulatory framework. Hilcorp employs many Alaskans and is best suited to scale up and integrate former BP employees into their company, compared to if an outside company purchased BP’s assets. We are very fortunate that an existing Alaska business, that has a proven track record of operating in Alaska and is familiar with our residents and State will become the new owner and operator of BP’s assets. Not only that, Hilcorp has good working and investment relationships with the other Alyeska owners. We have full faith and trust in Hilcorp to continue the safe operation and development of Alaska’s oil fields - to the benefit of all Alaskans.
