Potential Acquisition of Municipal Light and Power.
In light of the recent news on the Municipality of Anchorage's proposal to sell the Municipal Light
and Power utility to Chugach Electric Association, Inc., at this time it is premature for the
Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA) to take comments on this matter.
The utilities have not yet filed an application to amend their certificates of public convenience and
necessity in accordance with our statutes (AS 42.05.221 - AS
42.05.281). If the utilities file a joint application, the RCA will issue a notice of
the filing, at
which time the public can file comments.
