Regulatory Commission of Alaska Extends the Application Deadline for the
Rural Alaska Broadband Internet Access Program.
On November 15, 2010, the Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA) issued a
press release announcing the release of the grant application guide for the fifth
round of the Rural Alaska Broadband Internet Access Grant Program (Grant
Program). The RCA requested proposals from telecommunications carriers and
cable operators interested in receiving a grant under this program, and set a
deadline of December 30, 2010, to receive grant applications.
In order to ensure grant applicants have sufficient time to complete
comprehensive grant applications in this round of grant funding, the RCA is
extending the deadline for filing grant applications to January 31, 2011. A
Revised Round Five Grant Application Guide, incorporating the extended filing
deadline and related timelines, is now available on the RCA website at RevisedRound5GrantApplicationGuide.pdf.
