Annual CAP Revisions and Cost per Foot for New Construction -
Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Matanuska
Electric Association, Inc. (MEA) filed tariff revision TA453-18, the annual update to its CAP
allowance and cost per foot for new construction. MEA’s CAP Allowance is the
maximum investment the utility is obligated to make to extend service to any member
who makes application for permanent service, as described in Section 4.01 of MEA’s
tariff. With TA453-18, MEA proposes increasing the CAP allowance for the 2015
construction season from $4,500 to $5,000. Additionally, MEA proposes to increase the
cost per foot for constructing new single phase services from $23.59 to $24.35 per foot.
