Notice of Consumer Input Hearing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) is seeking
further input on the application of the Railbelt Reliability Council (RRC) to
serve as the Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) for the Railbelt region.
The ERO will set electric reliability standards that are enforceable on all
Railbelt electric utilities and conduct important integrated resource
planning on a regional basis. The costs of the ERO are ultimately paid for
by the customers of the Railbelt electric utilities.
Docket E-22-001 was opened to address the application, and the
Commission has received initial public comments both in support of the
application and expressing concern. To allow additional comment before
the formal hearing to consider the RRC’s application, the Commission has
scheduled a consumer input hearing to convene at 8:30 a.m. on
Wednesday, July 20, 2022, and to tentatively conclude at 9:30 a.m.
Members of the public should be prepared to limit their comments to 5
minutes or less, at the call of the Commission Chair, depending on the
number of commenters at the consumer input hearing. Additional
information regarding the docket, including a copy of the application, can
be viewed on our website at www.rca.alaska.gov with a search under
docket number E-22-001 under the “Find a Matter” section of the
homepage.
The consumer input hearing will be held via Cisco Webex video
conferencing. Any party, representative, witness, or public person wishing
to attend or participate in the consumer input hearing via Webex should
email our law office assistances at loa.rca@alaska.gov to request an
invitation. Alternatively, if you would like to call in telephonically, please
