The RCA is deeply saddened by the untimely loss of Dana Tindall from the
business community of Alaska. Ms. Tindall was for many years an advocate for
competitive, reasonably-priced long distance and local telephone service. Ms.
Tindall was dedicated to improving the quality of telephone service to citizens in
every corner of the state. She was a constant and helpful presence appearing
before the commission in numerous regulatory proceedings. Her zealous
advocacy for both her employer and for the Alaska consumer will be hard to
replace. She worked with all who shared her vision - whether they were national
policy makers, state officials, regulators, or those desiring to simply place a call to
a family member in the same remote village. Ms. Tindall epitomized the very
best of what it means to be an Alaskan. She will be deeply missed.
