2ND Annual Consumer Forum for Alaskans.
In conjunction with the National Consumer Protection Week (March 3-9, 2019),
the Consumer Protection & Information Section of the Regulatory Commission of
Alaska (RCA) hosted its 2ND Annual Consumer Forum on March 5, 2019.
This year's consumer forum convened an array of speakers from the Federal
Trade Commission, Alaska Office of the Attorney General's Consumer Protection
Unit, Better Business Bureau, Alaska State Human Rights Commission, Offices
of the State Ombudsman and Long Term Care Ombudsman, Medicare
Information Office, Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, and the RCA. The
forum provided an opportunity for networking and stronger agency collaborations,
as well as latest updates on how Alaskans can protect themselves from various
scams and deceptive practices.
