Consumer Input Hearing.
A Consumer Input Hearing will be held in Juneau to receive comments from interested persons
regarding the Application by Waste Connections of Alaska, Inc. to acquire the assets and
Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity of Alaska Pacific Environmental Services-Juneau,
LLC d/b/a Pacific Waste, and also known as Arrow Refuse.
The Regulatory Commission of Alaska reviews applications for the transfer of Certificates under AS
42.05.241 to determine if the applicant is fit, willing, and able to provide the requested public utility
service. In comments filed March 24, 2017, in Docket U-17-013 (see filing here) the City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) requested a public hearing
at
which the CBJ and consumers can present the interests and needs of the public for refuse utility
service to the Commission and utility. The CBJ asserts that this hearing will assist the Commission
in determining if Waste Connections of Alaska, Inc. is fit, willing, and able to provide refuse utility
service in Juneau.
The Consumer Input Hearing will be held on May 25, 2017, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the
CBJ Assembly Chambers located at 155 South Seward Street, Juneau, Alaska.
The public is encouraged to attend and address the commission at the Consumer Input Hearing.
