RCA Welcomes Commissioner Keith Kurber II.
Commissioner Keith Kurber II was appointed by Governor Mike Dunleavy to the
Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA) for a six-year term beginning March 1,
2021. Before his appointment to the RCA, Commissioner Kurber served as
Pastor of Harvest Church, in Fairbanks, from 2010-2020. In addition to nearly 20
years as a vocational minister, Commissioner Kurber also served 30 years as a
commissioned officer in the US Army, retiring as a Special Forces Colonel from
the Alaska Army National Guard.
Commissioner Kurber’s military service included three mobilizations in the Global
War on Terror: Operation Enduring Freedom I, 2001-2002, Operation Iraqi
Freedom V, 2007, and Operation Enduring Freedom XIII, 2009. Commissioner
Kurber also worked at AHFC in Fairbanks, the National Federation of
Independent Business, and served as an Airport Police and Fire Officer at the
Fairbanks International Airport.
Commissioner Kurber has a B.S. from the United States Military Academy and a
Doctor of Ministry from Luther Rice College and Seminary. He is also a graduate
of the Alaska State Trooper Academy. He has been married for 38 years to his
wife Nola, who is also an ordained minister and former educator.
