MEA is financially hurting the entire community with this WPCRA (formerly) and now the COPA. My electric bill has increased 64%. Total $317 and $122 of this is just COPA charges. Do they realize people are having to choose between food and paying their electric bill. This is ridiculous and people shouldn't be expected to pay because some CFO at MEA is unable to budget properly. We the people demand relief! After all, isn't MEA owned by "We the People?"
Additionally, it isn't fair that MEA is trying to recover costs of electric, due to their faulty CFO's budgeting practices, during the BUSIEST usage months of the year. If anything, spread this out over the summer months. PEOPLE ARE LOSING THEIR HOMES because of this. My neighbor recently had to foreclose on their home because they couldn't afford their electric for crying out loud. Many people are not aware of the public comment process and I am speaking out for them. This is ridiculous and the regulatory commission needs to investigate this further. WE DEMAND BETTER REPRESENTATION ON THE MEA BOARD AND REPLACEMENT OF MEA'S CFO TO A REPRESENTATIVE THAT CAN HANDLE PROPER BUDGETING. WE DEMAND THAT THIS COPA IS REMOVED AND MEA IS HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN FAULTY ACTIONS! WE DEMAND FAIR UTILITY PRICES!
