Dear Regulatory Commission. Are you aware that people are losing their homes due to this COPA and formerly WPCRA?  Many in the community are not aware why they are seeing increasing around 65%. On television, they are only told about base rate increases of 1%. The wool is being pulled over their eyes. Little do they know, and it is very hard to find information on what the WPCRA and COPA really are. However, we are aware that this are efforts/charges for MEA to make you pay for electric they purchased, but you didn't need. My electric bill, which is usually around $180 a month increased to $320 this month, even though the usage is the same. These extra charges are all due to COPA ($122). People are losing their homes and having to choose between lights or food. Have you not considered putting a cap on these increases? A 20% increase is understandable, even senior citizens on a fixed income can handle that. But a 65% increase because some CFO at MEA doesn't know how to budget properly. How about we the people, the members of MEA are given a credit. After all, we are paying for services we didn't use. MEA is supposed to be owned by the people. Well, the people are speaking now. It is irresponsible of MEA to pass on these charges to their customers/members. While we are willing to help MEA recover some of the cost of electric they bought, but we did not purchase (well, I guess we ended up purchasing it anyway) but not all of it. MEA needs to be responsible for their own fiscal errors. How about a 20% across the board and not during the winter months? Sheesh!  How about the regulatory commission actually represents the people, and the CFO at MEA is relieved from his duties and replaced with a member that has better budgeting skills? People are losing their homes, people with electric heat are unable to pay their mortgages now. How about some relief?
