Public Comment for R-24-003 by Nancy Pease

In the matter of R-24-003, I support raising the statewide net metering cap. 
A higher cap will encourage investment in renewable energy in our state, which is a key part of diversifying our energy supply.  In addition, Alaska needs to use every available tool to balance our demands for natural gas with the current local supply shortages (in Anchorage). And let’s be blunt:  climate change is here, and wreaking all kinds of costly and irreparable harm to our natural and built environment.  Every renewable energy source should be strongly promoted, and a higher net metering cap will do that.  Nancy Pease, Anchorage resident
