Public Notice for Alaska Universal Service Administrative Company

The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that the Alaska Universal Service Administrative Company (AUSAC) filed TA25-998 seeking Commission approval of the 2018 Alaska Universal Service Fund (AUSF) surcharge factor. AUSAC is the entity selected by the Commission to administer the AUSF.

AUSAC proposes an AUSF surcharge factor 15.8 percent, which represents a 1.6 percentage point increase in the factor from the currently approved surcharge. The surcharge is calculated to allow sufficient funding for the AUSF, including carrier of last resort support, common carrier line support, support for local exchange company switching equipment, state Lifeline support, public interest pay telephone support, and AUSAC’s 2018 operating budget.
