Comment Period Open on Proposed Changes in RCA Regulations.

The Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA) has issued a public notice regarding the consideration of a full repeal of current regulations related to the Alaska Universal Service Funds (AUSF), the programs the AUSF directly supports, and general administration of the AUSF, effective July 31, 2019.

During the RCA's January 3rd special public meeting, the RCA voted to open this rulemaking proceeding (R-18-001) to address the full repeal of the AUSF, as well as possible retention of certain aspects of the fund or possible replacement of the fund with a different framework. 

Comments may be submitted under Docket R-18-001 through this link: View Public Notices and Submit Comments.  The deadline to submit comments is February 26, 2018, at 5:00 p.m.
