RCA Seeking Comment Regarding Regulation of Residential and
Commercial Refuse Service
(Docket I-19-001).
At the public meeting held July
12, 2019, the
Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA) voted to open an informational docket
to gather information and public comment regarding full or partial regulation (or
deregulation) of residential and commercial refuse (trash collection) service,
which includes an investigation into the practices and pricing models used within
the industry.
An order has been released opening Docket I-19-001 and issuing a list of questions for response from refuse utilities and
other interested persons.
By 5 p.m., December 5, 2019, interested persons or entities may file responses
to those questions.
By 5 p.m., December 19, 2019, interested persons or entities may file replies to
the responses received on December 5, 2019.
