RCA REQUESTS COMMENTS ON COMMISSION JURISDICTION OVER
NATURAL GAS STORAGE PROJECTS
Anchorage, Alaska - The Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA) is requesting
public comments be filed by January 8, 2010, regarding a petition for declaratory
judgment on commission jurisdiction over natural gas storage projects.
On December 21, 2009, Cook Inlet Natural Gas Storage, LLC (CINGS) filed a
petition for declaratory judgment regarding whether the RCA has jurisdiction over
its proposed natural gas storage projects under AS 42.05 or AS 42.06. The RCA
opened Dockets U-09-124 and P-09-016 to consider CINGS request for declaratory judgment and for expedited
consideration. The RCA will make no determination on granting a declaratory
judgment or expedited consideration until the comment period closes. In Order
U-09-124(1)/P-09-016(1), the Commission set out questions commenters might
address.
Interested persons may comment on the CINGS filing and RCA jurisdiction over
the proposed natural gas storage projects by submitting written comments to the
RCA at 701 West Eighth Avenue, Suite 300, Anchorage, Alaska 99501, or via
online at View Public Notices and Submit Comments. Comments
must be received no later than 4 p.m., January 8, 2010, and should reference
Dockets U-09-124 and P-09-016.
